Seven retains Tour Down Under rights in multi-year deal
The agreement covers full live coverage of both races, with the 2027 men’s and women’s events overlapping from 22 to 24 January.

Seven Network will retain exclusive Australian broadcast rights for the Santos Tour Down Under under a confirmed multi-year agreement. The network said viewers would continue to receive free, live coverage of every stage in full through its television channels and 7plus Sport.
The 2027 men’s event comprises six stages, running from 19 to 24 January. The women’s three-stage event is scheduled for 22 to 24 January, with Willunga and Stirling hosting the final weekend of racing.
Race Director Stuart O’Grady said the 2027 edition would be the first cycling event worldwide to have male and female riders competing over equal distances on matching days. He said maintaining complete coverage of both competitions was central to arranging the overlapping schedule.
The two races will have separate broadcasts and commentary teams, supported by roadside reporting and dedicated motorcycle and helicopter camera coverage. Seven’s partnership with the event began in 2019. Details of the 2027 commentators and stage-by-stage viewing schedule are to be announced closer to the race.
