Coach Les Kiss has brought Teddy Wilson and Tom Lambert into a 33-man Wallabies touring party for four Tests in Europe, with the opening match in London on 9 November.

The schedule includes matches against England, Scotland and Wales, followed by an opponent yet to be determined at the first Nations Championship finals weekend. Taniela Tupou and Tom Hooper are back after missing the New Zealand Tests because those games were outside World Rugby’s player release period.

NSW scrumhalf Wilson replaces Kalani Thomas and joins Ryan Lonergan and Tate McDermott in the squad. A former captain of Australia’s under-20s, Wilson helped Easts claim the Shute Shield. His father, David Wilson, earned 79 Wallabies caps and was part of the team that won the 1999 World Cup.

Lambert takes the place of Aidan Ross, Australia’s starting prop in the Sydney Test against New Zealand. The loosehead is due to join the Queensland Reds this season. Jock Campbell has also been omitted.

A fractured leg has not prevented flyhalf Carter Gordon’s selection, with Ben Donaldson and Declan Meredith also included. Harry McLaughlin-Phillips misses out after his debut as a Sydney substitute.

Hunter Paisami returns following a high-tackle suspension that kept him out of the Bledisloe Cup. Miles Amatosero also has a touring place and will represent Australia A against the United States. Kiss said building squad depth was behind the difficult selection decisions.
