Adelaide reject North Melbourne's four-pick bid for Nick Murray
The Crows cited their defensive depth after Jordon Butts' departure, with Murray remaining under contract.

North Melbourne were unable to secure contracted Adelaide defender Nick Murray before the trade period closed, after the Crows rejected a proposal involving four draft selections. Adelaide wanted a top-20 draft pick as part of a deal for Murray.
The Kangaroos offered picks 33 and 49, along with first-round and third-round selections in 2027. Their proposed return was Murray plus a future fourth-round selection, but the clubs did not reach an agreement.
Adelaide list boss Jarryd Roughead said the club's focus was on winning now and that letting another key defender leave would stretch its depth. Jordon Butts had already moved to the Western Bulldogs through free agency, and Roughead said losing two players in that position would be difficult.
Murray's AFL career comprises 78 appearances since 2021. He played 11 games this season, with his senior appearances for Adelaide totalling 32 across the past three years.
