Megan Schutt took 4-16 as Australia completed a three-match ODI series sweep against Bangladesh with an eight-wicket victory at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field. The hosts reached their target inside 23 overs after dismissing Bangladesh for 172.

Australia’s chase was led by Annabel Sutherland, who finished unbeaten on 74 from 52 deliveries, and Ellyse Perry, who made an unbeaten 65 from 64. Their third-wicket stand added 137 after openers Georgia Voll and Beth Mooney departed for 11 and 21 respectively.

Playing her 100th ODI, Mooney was bowled by debutant Disha Biswas with the quick’s second delivery in the format.

Schutt delivered 10 consecutive overs, including 53 dot balls, after Australia sent Bangladesh in to bat. The 33-year-old received both the match and series awards, finishing the series with 10 wickets at an average of 7.1. Her ODI tally at Allan Border Field reached 28 wickets from 14 appearances, a record for the venue.

Bangladesh’s innings included 50 from Shramin Akhter and an ODI-best 54 from 71 deliveries by 19-year-old allrounder Shorna Akter. Mooney stumped Akter.

Nicola Carey replaced Phoebe Litchfield, who missed the match because of a low grade hip strain. Litchfield, whose previous innings in the series were 77 and 70, will be monitored before the three-game T20 series against New Zealand, which begins in Sydney.
