Multiple AFL clubs have inquired about Elijah Tsatas following Essendon’s decision to delist the 21-year-old midfielder, raising the prospect of another opportunity for him.

Tsatas averaged more than 24 touches and four clearances across his six AFL appearances in his final year at Essendon. Selected at No.5 in the 2022 draft, he played 22 games during four years with the club.

The Bombers also delisted Liam McMahon, Saad El-Hawli and veteran players Jade Gresham and Matt Guelfi. Jordan Ridley and Zach Merrett departed during the trade period, while Keidean Coleman and Jack Bowes joined the club.

Essendon holds the No.1 draft pick. List boss Matt Rosa said the club had sought to add one or two players while strengthening its draft position, and had achieved those aims.

Rosa said keeping early draft selections had been a priority. He expressed confidence in the leading prospects on Essendon’s draft board and said the available talent extended beyond those top choices.
