West Coast are considering delisted forward Bobby Hill for a possible list position as he seeks an AFL return following the end of his Collingwood career in July.

Eagles list manager Matt Clarke said on Trade Radio that Hill’s talent warranted consideration and the club would assess him. Clarke said he hoped Hill could regain the mental and physical condition needed to pursue another opportunity.

Hill, 26, has faced personal challenges and played 14 AFL matches across two seasons. He made no AFL appearances in 2026, playing three VFL games. His Collingwood contract had been due to run until the end of 2030 but was terminated this year.

Fremantle have ruled out recruiting Hill. St Kilda football manager Lenny Hayes said the Saints had not discussed him, although Hayes, who knew Hill from GWS, said the forward had been training hard and wanted another chance.

Hill joined Collingwood from GWS for the 2023 season. He kicked four goals in that year’s grand final and won the Norm Smith Medal.

The AFL confirmed in September that clubs could use an extra list position in 2027 to recruit an Indigenous player as a Category B rookie. The league also said clubs could invite a maximum of two First Nations players to train during the Pre-Season Supplementary Signing Period.
