Mitch Knevitt has been delisted by Geelong after five seasons, although the Cats say they remain open to selecting him again in the upcoming drafts.

The midfielder, 23, made two senior appearances this year, taking his career tally to 23 games. Geelong recruited him at No.25 in the 2021 draft.

Knevitt earned selection in the VFL team of the year and placed second in Geelong’s best and fairest at that level. He can now move to another club through delisted free agency.

Geelong football boss Andrew Mackie thanked Knevitt for his contribution, praising his versatility and the team-first approach he had brought to the club.

The decision follows Geelong’s recruitment of Jordan Ridley, Toby Greene and Rowan Marshall during the trade period.

Knevitt is Geelong’s eighth departure this year. Jack Bowes moved to Essendon in a trade, while Rhys Stanley and Jake Kolodjashnij retired. The Cats also delisted George Stevens, Tyson Stengle, Jed Bews and Keighton Matofai-Forbes.
