Isaac Keeler has joined Port Adelaide players for a training session as he seeks another AFL opportunity following his delisting by St Kilda. The forward/ruck took part with a small group at the Power’s headquarters before pre-season.

Keeler, 22, returned to South Australia after his Saints stint ended. He played 13 matches across four seasons at St Kilda and has not formally joined Port Adelaide.

Power list boss Jason Cripps said the club had spoken with Keeler and his management and was examining whether the new Category B rookie rules could provide a way to recruit him.

Those rules, which cover Indigenous players, would allow Keeler to join without taking up a list spot. A delisted free-agent signing is another possible route.

Father-son prospect Dougie Cochrane was also at the club. Port Adelaide does not hold the first draft pick but has sufficient points to match an Essendon bid.
