Kane meets Collingwood board amid AFLW player uncertainty
Captain Ruby Schleicher has announced she will return to Western Australia, while six other Magpies players are out of contract.

AFL football boss Laura Kane has held talks with Collingwood board members about the club’s AFLW program amid uncertainty over several players’ futures, Xander McGuire said on Triple M.
The Magpies have recorded one win from 11 matches heading into their final game of the season and sit alongside St Kilda at the foot of the ladder. Captain Ruby Schleicher has announced she will leave Collingwood to return home to Western Australia.
McGuire said Kane’s meeting took place in recent weeks. While she regularly meets club boards, he said these talks specifically addressed Collingwood’s football department and its promotion of players away from the field.
Tarni White, Lauren Butler, Bri Davey, Sarah Rowe, Violet Patterson and Mattea Breed are out of contract, with their futures at the club unresolved.
Speaking on Talking W, Tom Morris said feedback from inside Collingwood included dissatisfaction with list management, development coaching and medical treatment. He said White was attracting interest from Essendon, the Dogs, Adelaide and Brisbane, while Davey had not yet received a formal contract offer.
