Sydney Sixers general manager Rachael Haynes has resigned for family reasons and will finish before the club's opening WBBL match on 30 October. She is moving to England with wife Leah Poulton and their son Hugo.

The Sixers will divide her duties between Hayden McIntosh, responsible for commercial matters, and Greg Mail, responsible for cricket, during the men's and women's Big Bash seasons. The search for a permanent successor is planned for early next year.

Haynes, 39, said leaving had been a difficult choice but was right for her family. She ended her playing career in 2022 and has not announced her next job publicly.

Poulton's England appointment was announced in September. The 42-year-old previously spent six years heading elite female cricket at Cricket NSW, overseeing performance operations for the Thunder and Sixers, along with state competitions and pathways.

Cricket NSW chief executive Lee Gorman thanked Haynes for her work with the organisation and credited her leadership with helping shape the Sixers.
