A 13-month migration at Toyota Finance Australia has replaced its 16-year-old SAP ECC system with S/4HANA cloud public edition. The new platform went live in early August, head of financial reporting and operations Moulik Doshi said.
Speaking at the SAP NOW AI Tour in Sydney, Doshi said planning for the project, codenamed Kizuna, included examining the complexity of the existing environment and its connections to other systems. That work helped establish whether the proposed cloud setup was achievable.
Preparing staff to use the replacement system and addressing their experience of it were also priorities. The public cloud edition allows less customisation than ECC, under SAP’s clean core approach.
That approach is intended to help customers adopt subsequent cloud upgrades and new features instead of staying on older software.
Doshi said users could now build dashboards and reports themselves, work previously handled by specialist data staff. Toyota Finance Australia was still exploring how to make the best use of the platform, he said.
