Australia have selected Reece Walsh at fullback for their final Rugby League World Cup pool match against the Cook Islands in Townsville, moving James Tedesco to the bench.

Walsh started the Kangaroos' opening match against New Zealand before Tedesco took over against Fiji. Tedesco contributed three try assists as Australia won 36-22.

Coach Kevin Walters has also changed his halves, selecting Cameron Munster at five-eighth alongside Tom Dearden. Sam Walker drops to the reserves, with Australia using their third halves combination of the tournament.

Captain Isaah Yeo and Liam Martin return after being rested, with Martin joining Jacob Preston in the second row. Bradman Best retains his centre position ahead of Latrell Mitchell. Ethan Strange, brought into the squad for the injured Mitchell Moses, is set for his Test debut after being selected on the six-man bench.

For the Jillaroos, Julia Robinson will miss the remainder of the tournament after scans confirmed ligament damage from a dislocated wrist suffered against England. No fracture was found following Australia's 78-0 victory.

Jess Sergis has been selected at centre for the Wales match in Sydney, while Canberra's Sheridan Gallagher takes Robinson's place in the extended squad. Jesse Southwell will play five-eighth alongside Tarryn Aiken.
