Riley Garcia has been delisted by the Western Bulldogs despite having another year under contract, with the club committing to bring him back through the AFL rookie draft on 23 November.

The Bulldogs said the move would allow more flexibility during the draft period. The national draft will run over 19–20 November, ahead of the rookie selections.

Hamstring setbacks left Garcia with only one appearance for the season, at VFL level. He has played 39 senior matches and will turn 26 in January.

Across seven seasons at the Bulldogs, Garcia reached double figures for senior appearances only in 2024, when he played 12 games. He added 11 VFL matches that season before agreeing to a three-year contract.

Collingwood made a similar list decision involving Harry DeMattia. The 21-year-old has made 43 appearances in the VFL but has yet to play a senior match.

Elsewhere, West Coast delisted Matt Owies, North Melbourne cut Zac Fisher and Richmond dropped Samson Ryan, each while contracted for another year. Port Adelaide’s Will Brodie retired with a year still left on his contract.
