Sheza Alibi draws barrier six for A$10 million Golden Eagle
Autumn Boy will start alongside Sheza Alibi in barrier five, while Beiwacht drew gate 10 for the Group 1 race at Royal Randwick.
Sheza Alibi has been allocated barrier six for the A$10 million Golden Eagle at Royal Randwick, with rival Autumn Boy in the neighbouring gate. The Group 1 event is restricted to four-year-olds and can accommodate 18 runners.
Owner Fred Noffke said he was pleased with the draw and that Sheza Alibi had freshened up well following her defeat in the Might And Power Stakes. She is trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, with Luke Nolen to ride.
Sheza Alibi and Autumn Boy have filled the first two places in each of their four meetings. Autumn Boy won their encounter as two-year-olds at Eagle Farm, while Sheza Alibi won the Randwick Guineas, Doncaster Mile and Makybe Diva Stakes.
Trainer Chris Waller has changed equipment for both Autumn Boy and Beiwacht, who drew barrier 10. Autumn Boy will race without blinkers, while Beiwacht will wear a norton bit. Stable representative Darren Beadman said both had worked well ahead of the race.
Skyhook, trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, drew barrier 16. Silver Eagle winner Apocalyptic was allocated the outside gate, barrier 18.
