AFL clubs announce delistings as Will Brodie retires
Hawthorn, the Western Bulldogs, Port Adelaide and Richmond have cut players, while Brodie is retiring with a year remaining on his contract.

Will Brodie has announced his retirement from Port Adelaide as four AFL clubs confirmed delistings two days after the trade deadline. Hawthorn, the Western Bulldogs, Port Adelaide and Richmond all announced changes to their playing lists.
Brodie is leaving with a year remaining on his contract. His career began at Gold Coast and included a stint at Fremantle before his move to Port Adelaide. He said retirement felt right after a decade in the AFL.
Hawthorn delisted Max Ramsden and Flynn Perez but offered both players an opportunity to train with the club during the AFL pre-season supplemental selection period.
The Bulldogs cut Ryan Gardner, Lachie McNeil and Nick Coffield. McNeil recorded 21 appearances and 17 goals in 2025, while Gardner's career included three finals for the Bulldogs in 2021. Coffield joined from St Kilda ahead of the 2024 season.
Port Adelaide also removed Ollie Lord and Tom Anastasopoulos from its list. Lord, who had kicked four goals in an AFL final, suffered an ACL injury early in the SANFL season.
Richmond delisted Steely Green and ruckman Oliver Hayes-Brown. Green departs after 45 games and 32 goals, while Hayes-Brown made seven AFL appearances this year. The Tigers have recruited ruckman Kieren Briggs from GWS and will continue developing former basketballer Patrick Carr, a Category B rookie.
