The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has begun recruiting replacements for two senior technology executives who have resigned, with both departures due in December.

Chief information security officer Jamie Norton is expected to remain until mid-December. Graham Jefferson, the regulator’s senior executive leader for data, analytics and AI, will also depart that month. Norton has held his position for one year and eight months.

ASIC has not named anyone to fill either position temporarily. It is seeking permanent replacements, retaining the CISO title but renaming Jefferson’s position chief data and analytics officer.

The next security chief will arrive during year three of ASIC’s four-year cyber security transformation program.

Separately, the regulator has established a contract chief technology officer position for RegistryConnect. Reporting to the program’s senior responsible officer, Paul Franklin, the appointee will oversee its technology and security deliverables.

ASIC says RegistryConnect involves work to stabilise and improve its business registers through to the end of financial year 2027-28. Those registers cover companies, business names, professionals, and banned and disqualified persons.
