PremiAir Racing has replaced Declan Fraser with Cooper Murray following the Bathurst 1000, bringing forward Murray’s arrival ahead of his contracted 2027 and 2028 seasons. Erebus will promote Jarrod Hughes after Murray’s departure.

Fraser, 26, said he had not chosen to leave and was disappointed by the circumstances. He thanked those who had supported him within the team, along with his sponsors and family. His comeback campaign has yielded one top-10 result, leaving him 21st among 24 full-time drivers.

Roland Dane said PremiAir wanted to begin preparing for 2027 as soon as possible and believed bringing Murray into the car immediately would help develop its program. Team owner Peter Xiberras said the two-season commitment made an early start worthwhile.

Murray said he would begin racing for PremiAir at the Gold Coast, using the final three events to learn how the team works and become familiar with its Camaro. Now in his second full-time season, he is one position ahead of Fraser in the championship standings.

At Bathurst, Murray placed sixth and Fraser finished 18th. Hughes took 16th alongside Erebus rookie Jobe Stewart. Fraser previously raced full-time for Tickford in 2023, then spent 2024-25 as a Brad Jones Racing co-driver before returning to a full-time seat with PremiAir.
