Former Brisbane defender Darragh Joyce will continue his AFL career with North Melbourne, his manager Liam Pickering has confirmed. Paperwork for the 30-year-old's move is due to be completed.

Joyce made 14 senior appearances over four seasons with Brisbane and was regularly named as an emergency. The Kangaroos will be the third club of his AFL career.

Originally from Ireland, Joyce entered the AFL through St Kilda's category B rookie list before the 2017 season. His time with the Saints yielded 13 matches, before he switched to Brisbane in late 2022.

North Melbourne also sought Adelaide defender Nick Murray during the trade period, but the Crows resisted that approach. The Kangaroos have added Sydney's Nick Blakey as they prepare for a new era with first-time coach Jaymie Graham.

Former Essendon player Elijah Tsatas and former Richmond player Samson Ryan are also expected to join North Melbourne during the delisted free agency period.
